Reasonable Precautions

You must take all reasonable precautions to prevent loss or damage to the goods insured in transit. This includes packing goods so that they can withstand being dropped or tipped over, being impacted by other heavy items whilst in transit, being fork-lifted on and off vehicles.

Is There An Excess?

An excess of $100 applies to all claims except for electrical items, in which case a $250 excess applies to all claims. For insurance higher than $5k please note the following if in any instance your freight is damaged or lost:

  • The insurer will conduct an investigation and there will be a surveyors fee
  • The surveyor’s fee will be deducted from the total claim amount
  • The amount of the fee will depend on how the insurer will bill us
  • Customer to provide a copy of the sale invoice for proof of the amount insured
  • The customer will be informed that we need a repair quote if the surveyor will assess and deem that the freight is repairable
