Komatsu has been supplying and supporting Komatsu equipment to Australian contractors, quarries, miners, farmers and other end users since 1965 – celebrating our 50th anniversary of Australian operations in 2015.

Complex Ordering & Shipping Processed

Komatsu sells and ships machinery parts to both large and small customers. To simplify their process, they created a new business unit to sell parts directly to customers via an e-commerce portal. That required a shipping solution that could instantly calculate freight rates and provide a quote for the buyers for parts and equipment ranging from 1kg-20,000kgs. To really make it work, they needed to offer the flexibility of shipping with many carriers to ensure they could serve customers in metropolitan as well as regional and remote locations.

Freight Automation & Visibility

Komatsu incorporated FreightExchange’s freight management software into an e-commerce portal, among other systems, which allowed customers and customer service teams to get shipping quotes immediately. FreightExchange has also been integrated with eight different systems in Komatsu’s ordering, warehouse management and sales operation, so despite a large and complex business, they now have 360-degree visibility of all their shipping and the process couldn’t be simpler.
